Deepak Chopra has been an influential figure in the alternative health movement and an accomplished medical, alternative practitioner. His most significant novels are Timeless Mind, Ageless Body and The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, every published in 1994 and 1993 respectively. However, it was not until sometime in the late eighties he ventured into the realm of self-help writing, with his first book, Think and Grow Rich.
Though a controversial figure who presents himself as a guru, his books attract a broad assortment of readers. The principles he promotes have had the effect of establishing him as a pioneer in the other self-improvement circles. But, there have always been critics who question the methods that he adopts. Deepak Chopra critics claim that he takes a haphazard approach to self-improvement through motivational saying and self explanatory books. They also point out that his teachings contradict the common notion that knowledge alone will bring about self-improvement.
Deepak Chopra’s method of attaining personal development isn’t far removed from other alternative medicine practices. His basic assumption is that you can achieve a state of personal development by fostering positive believing in oneself and fostering one’s self-confidence degree. By applying such teachings as the eight-limbed ladder of self-help, one is able to attain self-actualization, which in turn leads to the accomplishment of the goals set by the mind. Therefore, Deepak Chopra presents himself as a prominent figure within the alternative medicine community.
However, this does not mean that Deepak Chopra’s influence goes beyond the boundaries of alternative medicine. He is still very much a part of the mainstream medical care community. For example, when he published the book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, he used the book to launch an initiative for the United States Army. The book was later turned into a television series and now has more than one million copies in print. There’s even a movie version of the book available on DVD.
In addition, Deepak Chopra continues to hold many credentials beyond the classroom. For example, he’s the author of numerous medical publications and is a certified chiropractic physician. Additionally, Deepak Chopra is a former contestant on the reality TV show”Survivor.” In this series, he was portrayed as a contestant who fought with a severe heart condition. Because of this, he held many discussions about improving one’s self-health through diet books, seminars, and speaking engagements.
One of those things that Chopra’s talk radio shows speech is self-improvement. Many of his books and videos address this matter. He discusses how to use the power of the mind to deal with a few of the difficulties we encounter in our lives. By way of example, he talked about the need to change our negative mindset. According to Chopra, if we continue to think that way, then we will stay stuck in our distress.
But some people may wonder whether there’s any validity to the notion of motivational self-improvement. In response to this question, the solution is that while the notion of self-improvement might be new to most people, self-help generally is a relatively long tradition. Many ancient philosophies, spiritual texts, and motivational speakers have addressed the dilemma of self-improvement. The majority of these have also tried to make sense of the idea of motivation and self-improvement.
For example, some of the top speakers will tackle issues such as self-esteem, confidence, motivation, and perseverance. All these are important and may contribute to our overall happiness and well-being. What many speakers do is emphasize that there are a number of ways to approach self-improvement. They encourage us to think about what it means to be moved. As they state,”motivation starts with a desire to change.”
