Deepak Chopra has been an influential figure in the alternative health movement and an accomplished medical, alternative practitioner. His most significant books are Timeless Mind, Ageless Body and The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, each published in 1994 and 1993 respectively. However, it wasn’t until sometime in the late eighties he ventured into the realm of self-help writing, together with his first book, Think and Grow Rich.
Though a controversial figure who presents himself as a guru, his books attract a broad assortment of readers. The principles he boosts have had the effect of establishing him as a pioneer in the other self-improvement circles. But, there have always been critics who question the methods that he adopts. Deepak Chopra critics claim he takes a random approach to self-improvement through motivational saying and self explanatory books. They also point out that his teachings contradict the common notion that knowledge alone will lead to self-improvement.
Deepak Chopra’s method of attaining personal development is not far removed from other alternative medicine practices. His basic assumption is that you can attain a state of personal growth by fostering positive believing in oneself and fostering one’s self-confidence degree. By applying such teachings as the eight-limbed ladder of self-help, one is able to attain self-actualization, which in turn results in the achievement of the goals set by the mind. Therefore, Deepak Chopra presents himself as a prominent figure within the alternative medicine community.
However, this does not mean that Deepak Chopra’s influence goes beyond the boundaries of alternative medicine. He is still very much a part of the mainstream medical care community. For example, when he published the book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, he used the book to launch an initiative for the United States Army. The book was later turned into a television series and now has more than one million copies in print. There’s even a picture version of the publication available on DVD.
Additionally, Deepak Chopra continues to hold many credentials beyond the classroom. For instance, he is the author of numerous medical books and is a certified chiropractic physician. In addition, Deepak Chopra is a former contestant on the reality TV show”Survivor.” In this show, he was portrayed as a contestant who fought with a severe heart condition. As a result of this, he held many discussions about improving one’s self-health through diet books, seminars, and speaking engagements.
One of the things that Chopra’s talk radio shows address is self-improvement. Many of his videos and books address this matter. He discusses how to use the ability of the mind to address some of the difficulties we experience in our lives. For example, he spoke about the need to change our negative mindset. According to Chopra, if we continue to think this way, then we’ll remain stuck in our distress.
However, some people may wonder whether there is any validity to the notion of motivational self-improvement. In response to this question, the solution is that while the idea of self-improvement might be new to most people, self-help in general is a relatively long tradition. Many ancient philosophies, religious texts, and motivational speakers have addressed the dilemma of self-improvement. Most of them have also attempted to make sense of the concept of motivation and self-improvement.
For example, some of the top speakers will address issues like self-esteem, confidence, motivation, and perseverance. All these are important and may contribute to our overall happiness and well-being. What many speakers do is emphasize that there are a number of ways to approach self-improvement. They encourage us to think of what it means to be moved. As they state,”motivation begins with a desire to change.”
